Beer

Sorry for ridiculously bad update yesterday, I was a bit out of time.

Anyways, before I left, I had to make fastelavnsboller to Bjørn. And I'm pretty satisfied with the result;

Yum

I consumed one of those calorie-bombs before running to the station. Not a good combination, but I could handle it.

The dome of Århus, on our way to the bus station

My Saturday afternoon was spent in a rather chilly bus from Århus to Hamburg. I was fine in the beginning because I hijacked the back row of the bus, and could lie down and read "1984" by George Orwell in peace, but then a bunch of French guys occupied the seats around me and were a bit disturbing without actually doing anything to bother me.
Maybe I was just cold.

At 22.00 we arrived in Hamburg, where I had to change bus.
This one was a little miracle.
WARM.
Amazingly comfy seats.
I slept like a baby after 15 minutes.
I loved that trip, and decided I could live there on my two seats for at least a week.
So from Hamburg to Mannheim it was no problem.

Amazing, wonderful frog-seats

At 03.00 in the morning we stopped at a roadside café, and suddenly I realised it was one we stopped at when my class of 2007 went with the White Buses through Poland and Germany. I find the odds for hitting the same place quite small. But fascinating happening!

I arrived at Mannheim at 07.20, and I saw that Nadine wasn't there.
Panic.
Lost in Germany on a Sunday morning.
After 20 minutes she called and was SO sorry she didn't hear the alarm because she had been out yesterday. Hahahah:)
She came to pick me up, and it was SO GOOD to see her again.
She is hilarious.

She has a really important job meeting in München tomorrow.
Therefore we immediately headed south from Mannheim, and had a little roadtrip on the German highways with a completely lost Nadine.
Some of the highways have no speed limits!

German traffick

After around 4 hours that passed really quickly, we arrived the capital of Bayern.
We are being very criminal (which I find hilarious, seeing that Nadine has a 5 year law education), and I sleep in the single hotelroom that her company pays because of her meeting, in my sleepingbag. Shhh.
I like being criminal.
Although I detest them.
Thrilling.
We had a shower each and tried to get representative, and we went out to explore the city.

The sun went away, but there is no snow at all here, and München turns out to be a very clean and nice city, if not a bit dead, but I think we can blame Sunday for it.

Nice building. Very well kept

The first flowers I see naturally this year!

Human-web.

Statue(s)

Waterlocks

No, not Russia.

Beautiful church

Amazing Nadine with terrible, pink umbrella.

We made our way down to the historic center, where all the tourist shops were. Because of the cold wind, we found it best to go inside and get warm again.
Starbucks was our choice.

I must admit that I only managed to drink half of my giant mug of café mocca,

After a long time of watching and talking about the people walking by, we decided to go for another walk.

Tourist area

That walk was only 50 meters before we again found the wind to cold and sought shelter in a huge, old-fashioned pub.

First German beer!

After some beers and a Bayern-speciality, we found out it was time to stretch our legs again. And we went around the quarter and back, into Hofbräuerhaus which obviously is a huge tourist attraction.
Hofbräuerhaus where we spent all evening

It is seriously the biggest eating place I've seen. The tables just continued in all directions. So hot and loud. I'm glad I'm not working there!
We sat down with some British and German guys.

people, people,people. Mainly foreigners.

Traditional

Live musik in lederhosen

Beware: In Hofbräuerhaus they serve beer in "mass" - One liter at a time.

Happy about the size

New best friend! Precioussssss...

Dinner time! Knödl, young pork and peppersauce.

The place being so crowded and the tables so big, one can't avoid to get into chatter with the others. Our company was really nice, and we had a great time, laughing and having fun.

 Our table ++

Tired but happy Nadine.

It's been such a funny night. I've missed Nadine. We laugh so much together, and I couldn't be more satisfied with this day, even if I'm far out of my sleeping pattern by now.
I'm in her bedroom at the hotel with my sleeping bag, with my stomach full of traditional dinner and something like 3 liters of beer.
Nadine is already asleep.
She is going to present a big project for some important people tomorrow, so she'll need it.

I'm joining her now.

GUTE NACHT AUS DEUTSCHLAND!

P.s. Sophie has got tickets for Amsterdam, so now it's certain that I'll meet her there. It's almost too much good for me now!:) Wonderful:D

  1. Hej Julie
Bliver lige nødt til at korrigere en lille ting. Du starter det her indlæg med et billede af Århus domkirke - ikke den katolske kirke - den ligger et andet sted :-).
